Position - Tech Volunteer
We are looking for a skilled and passionate individual to join our team as a Tech Volunteer.
As a Tech Volunteer, you'll be an integral part of our team, working on diverse projects that make a positive difference.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide technical support to staff members and other volunteers.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
Assist in setting up and maintaining computer systems.
Assist in Communication mapping and Social media management
Manage and organize digital data.
Ensure the security and confidentiality of sensitive information.
Assist in data analysis and reporting.
Contribute to the maintenance of IT infrastructure.
Monitor and manage network systems.
Implement cybersecurity measures.
Analyze technical issues and develop effective solutions.
Work closely with team members to address challenges.
Provide timely resolutions to technical problems.

SPONSOR AN ORPHAN
One of the most devastating consequences of the HIV/AIDS pandemic was the rapid rise in the number of orphaned children. There are over a million children orphaned by hiv/aids and associated family losses in Ethiopia.
Many of these children have to contend with the loss of their parents and the responsibility of caring for younger siblings. That was why P2P identified the orphans issue as one of the areas where it could make a meaningful contribution.
Starting in 1999, P2Ps orphan sponsorship program (OSP) has transformed the lives of hundreds of orphans in Ethiopia.
Orphan Sponsorship Program
The monthly stipend P2P provides helps the orphans and their foster families cover the cost of food, housing, medical care, schooling assistance and psychosocial support for the children.
The amount of sponsorship is $30/month for each child. P2P covers the administrative costs of the Orphan Sponsorship program through separate fundraising activities. P2P’s zero overhead sponsorship program that links orphans in Ethiopia with families in North America and Europe and the effective administrative structure of the program has proven to be a solid model that has changed the lives of hundreds of children and their communities.
What kind of children are we supporting?
Children who lost one or both of their parents due to HIV/Aids. We are currently supporting 250 children.
how do I know my money reaches to the child?
100% of your money goes to the benefit of the child you sponsor. Your sponsored child receives the $30 CAD every month in Ethiopian birr. Any balances from that allocation will be saved in the child’s account and is paid to them in full as a transtion stipend when they leave the program upon finishing school. You will be receiving a detailed progress report of the child every 6 months. P2P also receives regular financial reports from our partners on the ground who deliver the program accounting for all the funds and the pre-defined expenditure categories.
How much does it take to sponsor a child?
It only takes $1 a day or 30$ a month, $180/6month or $360/year.
Will I get a tax receipt for the payment made?
- Yes, you will receive an official Tax Receipt for the full payment/donation you make.
How can I make contact with the child I sponsor?
You will be receiving progress reports every six months and whenever there are updates. Besides we will also facilitate communications between you and your child via email or pre scheduled phone calls. Above all, if you have a plan to visit the child in person, we would gladly facilitate that. You can also send gifts to the child you sponsor.
How can I make a payment/donation?
We have a variety of payment options.
- For an annual or semi-annual payment - we have a credit card payment system where you can call us (416 690 8005), or you can make an e-transfer to p2p@p2pcanada.org or else send cheques to our address.
- Monthly basis - we can assist you set up a direct deposit system where your account will be charged $30 CAD every month.
Can someone living outside Canada sponsor a child and make a payment?
