In Ethiopia, close to 1 million children lost one or both parents to HIV/AIDS and have to deal with this loss every day. Even in some cases, these orphans have to shoulder the burden of taking care of their younger siblings. That’s why P2P has been dedicated to making a difference in the lives of orphaned children.

SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY: OUR HEALTH OUR LAWS
P2P is happy to announce that it has recently begun a project entitled, “Supporting Our Community: Our Health Our Laws” through funding from the Law Foundation of Ontario. P2P in collaboration with the HIV/AIDS Legal Clinic of Ontario (HALCO), Women’s Health in Women’s Hands (WHIWH), and Africans in Partnership Against AIDS (APAA) will be providing legal education training in the areas of human rights, immigration, and criminal law as they relate to people living with HIV/AIDS. The training will target faith-based leaders and community workers such as front-line, settlement, health and youth workers in the African-Canadian Communities of the Greater Toronto Area. We believe that this project will build on the knowledge of key community intermediaries on HIV/AIDS and the law and forge partnership among community organizations.
